Recipient of multiple Will Eisner comic awards and the prestigious National Cartoonists Society Comic Book Division Reuben Award, Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo is quite possibly the best anthromorphic comic ever created. I started collecting the comic in the 90's, but originally was introduced to Usagi by way of a comic a friend collected, called "Critters" back in the late 80's. Stan's tales of a samurai rabbit living in feudal Japan spans two decades in the American comics industry. This book showcases his fantastic artwork, as well as his creative process that goes into creating a single Usagi Yojimbo comic. Usagi Yojimbo is well known for being a strictly black & white comic, but this book features many of his color illustrations used for UY covers and special issues. As a Usagi fan, it's a must own book, but I highly recommend purchasing a copy if you're a comic enthusiast or looking for a great gift to introduce a child to comics. The Art of Usagi Yojimbo hardcover book is 199 pages of excellence and a fine addition to any library.Read full review
