The Napoleonic wars were a fantastic time for the greatest sea power
I have not read The Commodore yet as it is part of an ongoing story of two wonderful characters. There are 21 books in the series. the commodore being 17th I would highly recommend reading the books from the beginning. This starts with Master and Commander, Jack Aubery the commander,and Doctor Stephen Maturin. Yes this is the book of the film, although the film is made up of different episodes that happen in lots of different Action packed voyages around the world.
