    Excellent book - reasonable condition

Compelling novel - a high tension page turner that has depth and powerful psychological insight. The paperback is fine, a little older so the page colour reflects the age A few creases in the spine but otherwise good.

  • Most critical review

A little disappointed which isn’t the usual case

The Stephen King books I’ve bought in the past have all been the editions like the one shown in the picture. The one that actually turned up was a totally different edition, which was a little disappointing as I like to collect. Also, the description said the book was in ‘very good’ condition but the binding is extremely creased and torn and the back pages are a little bit ripped. However, this is the first time this has happened from world of books!

  • Hotel? No thanks, I'll stay in a guest house.

Definitely one of the most underestimated works of Stephen King. Never have I read such a tale where reality and insanity become intertwined so completely that the reader himself has difficulty trying to establish the border between them. The story revolves around a family who, out of necessity, goes to live in the prestigious Overlook hotel. Jack and Wendy Torrance are a slightly estranged couple who see this opportunity as a beacon of hope for their marriage, but their son Danny has other ideas about the Overlook and its sinister aura. As the novel unfolds, the family quickly discovers that they're not alone in the hotel... King always has a knack of telling a story in such a way as to ensure that the reader never lets go of his book unless an urgent matter arises, sometimes even ...

  • Not as shown

I understand for this price you can't get a book brand new but it should at least be a good copy. I have heard many great things about this book and when I order it expecting a near new book with the same cover as the one advertised I was slightly disappointed. I'm sure the book it's self is amazing but when all the pages are stained yellow, a well bent spine and toward the center of the book all of the pages were folded in on themselves.

  • Amazing Book. Very good guality overall a great bargain.

The Shining is such an amazing book I have always been a huge Stephen King Fan. The book I got the quality was outstanding for the price. Yeah there were a little discolouration but overall for the price the book was. I say it was a bargain. Thank you very much.
