This high quality item has the squirrels frustrated, and me happy. If I decide to do a feeder at a different spot in my yard, I would seriously consider the one that twirls the critters off, definitely making a good show to watch but don't hesitate to buy the Squirrel Buster. It's easy to fill and not heavy to deal with.

I was so hoping this feeder would provide my clinging birds a hassle free feeder but that hasn’t been the case. The starlings dominate this feeder. I don’t know whether starlings in my area weigh less than the average starling, but I have adjusted the tension as far as it will go and they still get to the peanuts which are partially exposed unless there are two starlings on the feeder. I have modified it by adding some wire mesh to the outside partially covering the exposed nuts in hopes that the starlings will be deterred while leaving nuts accessible to the desirable lighter clingers. On the plus side, I had a yellow bellied sapsucker on the feeder which was a first for me as I have never seen one on any of my feeders & I have roughly a dozen.

This is the second one of these we've purchased, because... ...while it definitely stops squirrels, it does NOT stop bears! We came home one evening to find our two feeders mangles and in the woods. They are easy to figure out and use. They do have to be placed far enough away from a limb so that a squirrel couldn't grab it from the side and pull it to him to steal the nuts. Instructions say 16". It's been fun to watch the squirrels try to figure it out. The birds love it and it didn't take them long to come to the feeders. Highly recommended.

I cant say enough about how much I love this feeder. I've never fed peanuts to the birds before, so I got this peanut feeder after I had purchased a seed feeder, and decided since the squirrels cant get the seeds, so now I'll try peanuts. Holy smokes the beautiful birds I've been missing out on! Drives the squirrels mad too because they cant get anything. They swing around like fools, but they get nothing. After a few tries they usually dont come back, other than to sit on the ground, and hopefully catch some loose pieces that might fall. Been wanting to feed the blue jays forever, and now they show up daily. Worth every penny! Going to buy another one soon!

I reviewed & looked over many squirrel proof bird feeders & wanted one specifically to use nuts in. I'm very happy with this feeder - it seemed to take a few days for the birds to realize what it was before starting to use it, but, once they did, it's remained very popular!
