80's fun that will make you laugh out loud about a mans attempt at a m
This movie brings back memories! I remember being really excited to rent it from the video store as a kid, and this is why: I love this movie! If you like comedies that make fun of issues/things that take themselves too seriously than you will love this movie! It pokes all sorts of fun at the film industry and the crazy requirements involved. It is one mans hilarious crusade in the movie to make a movie that turns out to be the movie you are watching! HeHe! It was made in the late 80's, so expect it to be based off of that time period. Also, there are some things that went over my head as a kid that adults will appreciate. Overall it is a pretty clean movie(a couple mild swear words, a couple very mild drug/sex references) especially compared to today's standards. The special ... This movie brings back memories! He's summoned to Hollywood to create a masterpiece. Unbeknownst to him, the producer has sinister motives and attempts to sabotage the project. The madcap comedy, through spectacular special effects, propels the WIZARD and his friends into an adventure that's literally out of this world. THANKS AND HOPE THIS HELPS! :)

Wonderful Independent Film
An independent film about...an independent filmmaker! Mike Jittlov is a filmmaker who specializes in animation and special effects. This is a light-hearted and endearing satire about the trials and tribulations faced by independent filmmakers in Hollywood. One of the better independent comedies I've seen, this film will make you appreciate all the talent that we so often forget about when watching movies and make you want to cheer for the underdog as he goes up against the system. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, this film has never been released on DVD. But if you still have a videotape player, this movie should be added to your collection right away!An independent film about...an independent filmmaker! A great fun film
I first saw The Wizard about a month ago and was highly impressed. Like other reviewers I have to say I admire its innocense, cartoonishness, and overall fun humor. I am also impressed by Mike Jitlov's technical skill which should make high tech computer effects guys feel not so special. The plot also has everything you want, the struggle between the hero and villain, romance, and slap stick humor. I miss the Green Wizard!
Mike Jittlov is the most brilliant animator you probably never heard of - this movie was his autobiography, and true to his obsessive-compulsive nature, he wrote it, starred in it, animated it (just try to stop motion your surroundings as well as yourself - pixilation),... Unfortunately, the movie never really saw the light of day and even if it had the average joe really didn't have a clue as to what he was looking at. The rest of us knew we were watching something special - what is done routinely today using a computer this guy did by hand.
