High quality, well-made, reliable and good value.

I bought this because I was going on a Highland tour and my old knee injury was playing up - thought it mght save the day, but the risk was that it might pack up miles from anywhere leaving me with a much heavier bike to pedal. But its reliablity was exemplary, and I had no problems at all. Fitting the kit was fairly straightforward, although having an older bike meant the supplied axle would not fit into the front drop-outs. A careful session with a metal file solved that. The nearside crank arm had to be removed to fit the pedalling sensor, but the kit came with a good quality crank puller tool, so that was fairly easy. The instructions aren't great, but the various connectors are intelligently designed and colour coded,which helps a lot. The wheel into which the motor is built is clearly of good quality and in practice sustained heavy usage over potholed roads with packed front panniers. It was not bothered by torrential Highland rain and road-spray. The display and control unit needed a little adaptation to fit my handlebars, but worked perfectly from the very beginning. The front LED headlight is a nice touch - I ddn't fit the brake levers but they are included as well. Downsides? Only one really, which is that I think the cable emerging from the wheel should have a joining connector close to the wheel. As it is, removing the front wheel to replace a tube would mean disentangling the (quite long) power cable, which you will have attached to the bike frame at various points. Otherwise, I am very impressed indeed by the quality, useability and value of this kit.

The best conversion kit I've bought yet.

Firstly. Make sure you measure the drop outs of your 700c. The axils of the power wheel may be wider than the drop out on modern road bikes, as they were with me. YouTube has videos how to file the axil width down to fit but I guess this will invalidate your warranty. The instructions are very good English. There's also a YT video. The connectors are all coded so easy to connect up. My only gripe is I think the wheel isn't true and the brushless motor wheel makes a strange noise like wah wah wah wah instead of a constant tone. The control display is brilliant allowing you to control the PAS assistance power level. I usually like it at max 5 but I'm a lazy speed freak. The lower PAS is good for paths with pedestrians where you have to slow down and share the space. I converted a BTWIN 520 road bike but this required the axils to be filed down to fit and a washer to be added to allow wheel clearance from the forks. I get to work faster than the bus now! A well made piece of kit. The kits are getting better quality all the time! I'd buy again!

Good features: Value for money, waterproof connectors and ease of changing front wheel. The only real disappointment is the instruction manual for the L.C.D. which does not explain the purpose of the available settings.

One go on my bike and you will want this product.

I was unsure about this product, but after a little feta-ling, mainly due to an old style racer bike, i had it installed. Wow, its brilliant. I cycle to work about 3 miles and up a couple of steep hills which,i admit i did walk up pushing my bike. But now its effortless and can really get some speed up taking over 10mins of my journey time and im not worn out. should of had one years ago.
