    Rejoice (or not?)

    I have been a fan of Katherine since her first album was released. This crossover album has taken her away from the just an album of classical songs and opera arias ; so much so that this album is her first album not deemed classical enough to be in the classical album charts. Having said that it is still a good album although I would not entirely agree with the choice of tracks on it. Her version of Seals Kiss From a Rose is probably the weakest track closely followed by Somewhere from West Side Story. The strongest tracks have to be Requiem For A Soldier and Sancta Maria. These are two tracks that Katherine's fans are more accustomed to hearing from her rather than the other, frankly mundane, 'pop' songs that are also on this album, a couple of which were written by Gary Barlow.     Katherine Jenkins' fifth album, arguably the best yet.

    This album proves what I've long believed, that the gorgeous Katherine Jenkins can sing anything, from classics, to religious music, to modern pop. Nobody else I know of, has a voice that can even approach the splendour of hers. I already had the standard version of this album, and bought this deluxe edition for the two bonus tracks. I now have everything she has recorded so far, including singles, and look forward with eager anticipation to the release of her next album, later this year. I suppose I'm biased, for in my opinion, Katherine is just about the most the most beautiful woman ever to draw breath; the fact that she has a voice to match, certainly does it for me!     Nice album, but questionable choice of tracks!

    Katherine Jenkins is not only a pleasure to the ears, but also very easy on the eyes. Her last album 'Serenade' i thought was great, and had tracks that complimented her voice very well. Infact her last four albums i own and listen to frequently. But 'Rejoice' has surprised me with its more 'pop' than classical selection of tracks. Although i like 'Rejoice', i feel Katherine shouldn't be moving into the 'pop' music area with her album and stick to the more classical side of music that always makes her voice sound sublime. I would of given this album a 5/5, but i don't think it has the quality of her other albums. Its a 'worth the purchase' album, but has a questionable choice of tracks!

    rejoice

    Very good CD - Katherine Jenkins has a very beaufiful voice and the songs are very easy going and relaxing to listen to. The songs include i who have nothing, secret love, kiss from a rose and viva tonight from the show viva la diva, would definately recommend this cd if you like opera/easy listening music
