Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Wonderful product, fantastic price. Well packed and very good product. Just used this to make a Pate for my Beef Wellington my once in a year treat for me. These mushrooms will last me the whole year and I will make Beef & Ale Pie, Steak & Kidney Pie and Shin of Beef Mushroom Casserole / Stews with fluffy dumplings. This product has cheered my heart. Thank you.

  • Inedible

Most of the contents despite long soaking and long cooking times were still woody, tough and almost inedible.

  • Read The Label - NO BOLETUS!

I've bought two of these Cooks & Co Dried Mixed Forest Mushrooms 500 g containers. OK, so I'm a bit of a nerdie mycologist sort who sometimes goes foraging in the countryside and cooks the resulting finds, but I find incorrect advertising listings annoying, particularly when you've messaged the sellers to tell them. Each time I've bought the item the eBay listing has had at least two varieties of Boletus included in the listing and yet when they arrive the actual Cooks & Co label on the container shows there aren't any Boletus species in the mix. Why does this matter..? Well mainly due to accuracy when buying fungus as they can be poisonous and it helps to be more convinced the sellers/brand knows what is OK and can write accurately. Boletus - also known as Ceps, Porcini, Penny Buns - ...
