Worth the effort
As others have commented these are a very tight fit. I tried putting them in boiling water for a few minutes before using a mallet to tap them into the holes in the pan. They wouldn't go in so I tried again using some washing up liquid for lubrication before giving a sharp blow with the mallet - no joy - wouldn't go in past the bulbous bit. I lost my nerve at this point and decided to carefully reduce the wide part of the fixing with a sharp knife - repeated the boiling and lubrication and gave a firm whack with the mallet - success! Once inserted the fixing provides a very solid anchor. Note that the pack contains just one wellnut.As others have commented these are a very tight fit. The best blind hole fittings that I have used
I have worked in a few houses where the supposed "plumber" didn't use these even though they were supplied with the pan and seat. I can only imagine that they couldn't get them in to the holes and hence opted for the black rubber bungs which invariably result in a loose toilet seat. I find dropping the plastic Duravit fixing into a cup of boiling water for a couple of minutes makes it soft and pliable enough to then push it into the hole (preferably using an offcut of plywood to help to distribute the load as you push it down). In my limited experience the generic black rubber fittings are easier to push into the holes but all too often they don't expand far enough,the result being that the seat and fittings can be pulled away from the pan. Needs minor modification.
I used it for Duravit Stark 1 floor-mounted Toilet with cistern. The bulging portion of the nut wouldn't go through the hole. I had to shave off that portion with a cutter to make it fit. Less than a minute of shaving work. The nut has thread that fits the original screw perfectly. I couldn't find any alternative so this product (with minor modification) is the best option for me.
