Gamers can relive Peter Jackson's version of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic trilogy (albeit with small plastic blocks and vintage Traveller's Tales humor) as they join Frodo, Aragorn, and the rest of the Fellowship in LEGO The Lord of the Rings. All of Middle-earth has been re-created, even portions not seen in the films, but players follow the general progression of the story, travelling from The Shire all the way to the heart of Mordor. As always, gamers spend much of the adventure switching between characters, dismantling foes, and destroying the environments to earn LEGO studs.<br><br>There are more than 80 different characters to unlock, including the massive spider Shelob, the frightening Balrog, and the tortured hobbit Gollum, and the game includes dozens of lines of dialogue taken directly from the films. Players can collect Mithril to forge new items in the Blacksmith Shop, and characters gain new weapons and attacks as the advance through the journey. Special Palantir seeing stones let gamers jump back and forth between storylines, and as always, multiplayer fans can drop in or out of the action any time they please.

    Awesome Wii Game!

    After I saw the movie series I had to check out the game! Sometimes it's s little annoying because they play Lego clips of the movie between levels and such, but other than that I love this game! It keeps you going, keeps your interest, and truly portrays the characters from the movie. I love this game!

    Lord of the Rings: Great game some minor setbacks

    This is a really good game its a lot like playing other Lego games like Lego Star Wars. While I enjoy this game from start to finish I notice there are some problems for example I notice when I go to the map and see a white brick I have not collected I click on it hit "Set Destination" then as I am traveling to my destination of the said white brick for some reason after a minute or two the path will change. Is that some kind of glitch developers forgot to go back and fix? A little odd, I have also had this game freeze and I've had to turn my Wii U off and restart my Wii U again. Unusual? No, it's happened when I played LEGO The Hobbit. So I guess my only question to Warner Bros is why didn't they come out with a Wii U version of this game?I can see this working way better for Wii U then ...

    great game

    Even after you finish all the levels there is still more to do, there are hidden levels and quest after you finish the regular levels. You can unlock characters and use any character after you finish the game and go back into previous levels to unlock hidden items.

    Just like new

    Delivered straight from its 2011 release date, the case, Manual, and disc have not one single evidence of wear and tear, it looks brand new, and the manuals pages even crack as if they’d never been opened before. The best game I’ve bought from eBay. Wonderful buy.

    Fun game but can be very glitchy at times.

    The game is very fun to play, but we've had numerous experiences where the game unexpectedly freezes up and makes a terribly loud screeching noise. It also messes up and won't let you do things that you need to do in order to complete a level. You can go out, and then back in and it lets you. Just glitchy. The only fix is to power the Wii unit off manually, let it set, and start over which causes you to lose your progress. It's not our unit either, it's this LEGO game. We have the Star Wars LEGO game and it's never done this. The good news is that once we got 100% of the game completed, we never had another freeze up. We can play without issue now, except on the rare occasion it won't let us do something to complete a level. Strange, but overall we love the game and I would buy it ...
