    This Program Amusingly Challenges Boundaries

    My wife and I waited years for this Dana Carvey TV Show series to finally be made available in DVD format... In addition to Dana Carvey, there are regular appearances made by younger versions of Steven Colbert and Steve Carell, both relative unknowns to the general public at that time. This DVD set is good quality with a sane program index. Newcomers to this series should be advised to expect zany and somewhat irreverent (but fun) take-offs on many topics including politics and others such as the 1939 "Wizard of Oz" film. To be sure, this TV series is not for everybody, especially viewers under 16 years of age. Dana Carvey and cohorts are given the opportunity to test boundaries, and they embrace it with relish.

    The Little-Known Show That Fostered a Dozen Careers

    Many critics have said that this short-lived 1996 comedy sketch show, which only lasted for seven episodes before ABC cancelled it, was ahead of its time. Like SNL, a lot of the humor was topical, but if you remember or know anything about the events of the time (the Bill Clinton White House, the 1996 Republican Presidential primaries, O.J.), even those bits are still funny as hell. Carvey, former SNL cast-member and star of Wayne's World, assembled a brilliant team of writers and performers who were unknown at the time, but you've heard of some of them now (Louis C.K., Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Robert Smigel). Others have names you still might not recognize, but they've written TV shows and movies that you know (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, You Don't ...
