The Yamaha RX-V357 measures 43.5 cm wide by 15.1 cm high by 31.5 cm deep (17.1 inches by 6 inches by 12.4 inches) and weighs 9 kg (19.8 lbs). When connecting the Yamaha RX-V357 to the other units of the home theatre, it will use audio, analogueue, or optical cables. Dolby Digital comes standard on the Yamaha RX-V357, providing for quality sound for DVD and audio. SILENT CINEMA makes headphones sound better in the 100-watt receiver. The sleep timer on the Yamaha 5.1-channel can be set to continue playing for up to two hours, for every 30 minutes. HiFi DSP programs allow the Yamaha 5.1-channel receiver to make the music sound like various music halls, or to have the sound fit a different style, like jazz or rock. The 100-watt receiver allows for high quality stereo sound that is well suited to both music and video, along with a setting that makes video game sounds more realistic.

    Bargain Amp if you can get one

    I've had this amp for home theatre for 15 years. Used every week and I'm still impressed. I'm an ex live sound engineer and rate Yamaha very highly. For a small to medium-sized room it is superb. The only down-side is the Menu system. Pretty nutty but once you find a setting you like, save it! So much crappy stuff coming in the last 10 years - be assured this is mid to high range quality stuff - still!
