    Comfortable and affordable but.

This is an excellent glue gun if you want to continuosly apply Hot Melt glue as in a production line as the HIGH power setting actually scorches the glue if left unattended for more than a few minutes. However, I personally found the LOW setting to slow to heat the glue and only delivering a small amount of glue. The irony is I mainly use hot melt glue in a sculptural sense. Building up layers and creating textures on my artwork which I then paint when set. I have always found my old Bostik gun a bit slow on delivering a decent amount of glue which causes me problems using it to build layers and textures so the Stanley appealed to me with it's dual settings but the HIGH is FAR to High with the glue almost being as runny as water and the Low is worse than my current gun. Bottom line: It ...

  • Most critical review

Failed for the sake of a bucket of tar !

The functionality of this glue gun is excellent BUT the instructions tell you to ensure that it's not layed down when hot. Then they give it a 100% useless built-in stand !

  • Brilliant and great quality

Really great glue gun. A bit large for some smaller projects but keeps on feeding glue and isn't a stop and start gun like many I've used! It gets very hot and the reason I've knocked off a star is because it is supposed to have low or high setting (which it physically has) but on the low setting is still red hot. I expected the lower setting not to burn me but it does. I've therefore not purchased the Stanley dual melt glue sticks the second time around as they are much more expensive and not needed as the gun is so hot it melts any sticks.

  • An excellent item with many uses.

A very convenient "tool" for doing all sorts of repairs around the home. I have even used the hot melt glue to repair a cracked drain! One note of caution - don't leave the gun plugged in more than you need to use it as it will overheat and the heating element then breaks. The little fold-out stand is next to useless too - the mains lead will always twist and make the gun fall over. So when using the gun I have a small square of old carpet to hand that I can lay the gun on. Any glue that seeps out of the gun while it is heating up then falls onto this piece of carpet rather than damaging flooring or furniture.

  • A solid piece of gear

It may not be the smallest or lightest but it works well. Dripping is minimal, contrary to some cheaper models. The stand is also better quality than that of many others.
