A Lens For All (well most) Seasons
I bought this lens to simplify my Sony Alpha 6000-series camera outfit, rather than lug the short zoom and longer zoom that came with it in the first place. Its zoom range covers what the 'kit' lens short zoom does anyway and it even start to encroach on what the longer zoom can do, although, obviously not as far. Being a Zeiss lens, it doesn't disappoint. Sharpness and quickness of focus are excellent. Being f4 maximum aperture all through its range helps with 'bokeh' at all focal lengths. Reassuringly metal in construction with smooth rotating rings. Great lens
I bought this lens for my Sony a6000 as an upgrade to the standard lens that came with the camera. Its image quality is outstanding with excellent sharpness, colour and contrast. The zoom ring and the manual focus ring both operate very smoothly and have a quality feel with no creep. A great buy.

Great Lens, but excepted much more sharpness
The SEL1670z is a great lens with great colors, but i was excepted way better picture sharpness, and low light performance. Some blurryness at the corners at 16-20mm, like the kit lens (a6000). In darker room, and cloudy daylight this lens performs very bad: i recommend this lens only for static objects and building photos. Not really for faces or moving objects.
