Product Information

Professor Xavier's team of misunderstood mutants battles on in this sequel RPG from Raven and Activision, creators of the original. Once again, players control small squads of X-Men in a series of action-oriented, combat-intensive missions that lead them through the game's comics-inspired storyline. Between missions, heroes can rest, recover, and re-supply, at Professor's X academy headquarters, or one of four other game world hubs. Each of the game's 16 playable characters has ten personalized powers, which can be customized and upgraded with experience and power-ups.<br><br>In addition to Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and other characters playable in the first Legends, the sequel also lets fans of the series choose lesser-known X-Men, such as the energy-absorbing Bishop, or even the team's nemesis, Magento, and members of his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants such as Toad and Juggernaut. It seems that past rivalries may be forgotten -- at least temporarily -- in the face of a universal threat posed by the ancient, megalomaniacal, Egyptian super-mutant known as Apocalypse.<br><br>As did the original releases, the GameCube version of X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse features a same-screen cooperative multiplayer mode.

    A super come back

    When you think of super hero games you think about games like Superman 64, Aquaman,Fantastic Four,etc. But over the years super hero games are getting better and better games like Spider-man, The Incredible Hulk and X-Men Legends this year the good people at Raven Software bring us X-Men Legends 2 which has more characters, super powers, levels, in short its got more of every thing. This time around you can play as the X-Men AND the Brotherhood which means more characters there is a total of 18 characters to mess around with, and you can make what i call 'the perfect team' for instants you can have Woverine and Juggernaut do the melee damage while Cyclops and Iceman use ranged attacks. Over all even if your not a fan of the comic you should still greatly enjoy this game. 4/5

    X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

    A very good game. It excels in many places, with few low points. It has great gameplay. Multiplayer is very fun. Danger Room can also be pretty exciting. The story is very thought out and allows you to want to play more than once to get the full story. The wide range of characters is also a plus. The range of unlockables is also cool. The game is not only great for X-Men fans, but really any one who has remotely has and interaction involving X-Men. If you saw the movie, saw an episodes, read a clip of the comic, or even less detailed things, you will enjoy this game. The only real low point is the controls can take a while to master.

    Want a diablo clone for GC?

    X-men legends 2 is pretty much a more detailed sequel to the original. They add many more skills, more characters, and more enemies to the game, making it a nice experience. The gameplay is pretty much the standard diablo clone formula. You level up, get skills, and beat people up for gear and healing items, all from a top down perspective. This game is great fun, but I would only suggest it if you have a friend to play it with, thats where it really shines. The gameplay is pretty repetitive, the characters are decent, and the skills are fun. This is a great game for someone looking for a nice no-thinking game to play with friends, but its not winning any awards for story or originality.

    Fun game.

    Great game... only problem the one I received was out of the disc holder from inside the case. There was a cracked part on the disc but it was still playable, try it for a few days works fine.
