Before I purchased this item I Googled it to make sure it was possible to use it without wi-fi. Given that apparently you could I ordered it. This was to be for my wife’s friend who being over 80 years old, has never had the need of a computer. Doing the job it was bought for..
I wanted a cheap tablet to read the newspaper on-line and control my music system. This hits both those targets, the screen is not upto the highest standards, it's no featherweight and I wouldn't recommend it for looking at detailed images, but otherwise it's just fine.
