I checked the age of that product which was a KIDDE unit and found that it was 10 years and 5 months old. The guarantee was 10 years so I had full value from it. It was a forgone conclusion that I would buy another of the same make and hope that this too will give it's guaranteed life.

Quietly does it's job!
Bought this alarm for peace of mind, putting it near our large wood burning stove as it gets a lot of use during the winter. It was quick and easy to set up, letting out a piercing beep as the batteries went in, and is now just doing it's job. Particularly like that it uses batteries, unlike my last one that the stove installer gave me, so it will last longer. Cheap and basic unit
One of the cheapest most basic carbon monoxide detectors. Small in size and no visual signs of it working apart from a green led that rarely flashes. There is a test button to confirm operation. In hind sight I would have paid more for a unit with live led display.

compact ,very good value for money and came with all fittings and batteries. works well when tested won't know if it works properly until I have an emergency with gas supply! it has a 10 year life and 1 year for the batteries. Also impressed with the prompt delivery.

Just what I needed.
Item arrived on time. Easy to instal and to understand how it works. Apart from testing at regular periods and replacement of flat batteries, when the unit flashes, no maintenance is necassary. The only negative is that I couldn't find (or I may have missed it) instructions on what height to fit it. As I knew that Carbon Monoxide is heavier than air, I fitted mine a foot below the boiler.

Kidde carbon monoxide detector good quality
This carbon monoxide meter has a long cell life and a good guarantee and is manufactured by a well known supplier.Very happy with it so far. My previous detector, of an unknown make, failed after just a couple of years. It was a bit cheaper but obviously not worth it at all
