Great early Genesis title
Toki Going Ape Spit was one of those games that I would see all the time, but I never had the urge to play it. Every time I would go and buy a new Genesis game, Toki would be there, but it failed to win me over. I guess my tastes in my youth were more action oriented with ninjas and machine guns, so the idea of playing an ape who spits as a weapon wasn't very appealing. I have become less stringent in my video game tastes as I have become older, so when I saw Toki, I thought I would give it the old college try. To say the least, I wasn't disappointed. The more video game technology evolves, the more I come to appreciate the older games systems. Toki, being one of the earlier games for the Genesis, actually holds up quite well compared to later Genesis titles. The background graphics ... The character sprites are well animated. The sounds are adequate, but the music tends to repeat itself through the levels. Luckily though, the music isn't annoying, so you won't have the relentless grating of bad music bellowing through your head after you are finished playing. The gameplay is solid. Your character moves slowly, but the game doesn't put you at a disadvantage. You won't get killed by too many cheap shots. For me to recommend Toki, well that it a different story. If you are fond of the golden era of the Genesis, then adding Toki to your collection would be a fine move. Anyone who doesn't fit into that mold, wouldn't find much value in a game that is almost 18 years old.

A great game for anyone with a great buying price.
First off, If anybody likes games that are from the sega genesis this game was really great for the price compared to discounted stores. Nothing wasn't really disliked about it because for me I like these games still and when this was bought from Ebay it was such a nice price and even a fun game to play. Overall, buying this game or others that are in great used condition or new will surely be great to have, or for others, love to have for a good time and for something to do when nothing is going on.First off, If anybody likes games that are from the sega genesis this game was really great for the price compared to discounted stores.
