    See Bonus Features first, to appreciate this pre-Downton Abbey novel by Edith Wharton

    I didn't appreciate until Bonus Features this Victorian 1800s/Edwardian early 1900s costume period drama though visually attractive (except these Brit males) unhappy precursor to Downtown Abbey genre, since this authored by unhappy American upper-crust Edith Wharton critic of social class culture and her marriage not amusing and happy like novelist predecessor Jane Austen and successor Downton's Julian Fellowes, whose fans also like his fictionalized historic Downton pre-cursor "Gosford Park" after its Bonus Features (and his modern Scotland "Monarch of the Glen") like Winston Churchill's biography of his Khazaryan/Ashkenazi 'Jewess'-American heiress mother "Jennie: The Lady Randolph" re-enacted by another Celt/American beauty like Downton's Elizabeth McGovern and one of these Bucaneers ...

    A visual treat

    This DVD had beautiful settings and costumes. I found it interesting that it showed events that happened to actual people. One would do well to pair this with "American Princesses" documentary.

    1 of my favorite period dramas w/ all scenes

    Love this production don't usually hear about it. But the writing is tight and has some of my favorite characters - Nan and Guy. This version has all the scenes included including the intros a must have for bbc periods

    There is an overplay of the sillyness of these young girls and how they don't fit well in either socoety.

    We found Buccaneers mildly entertaining. A stronger story line would have helped. 'Don't think we'll keep in our library.
