my fordington as I remember it.
Although these pics and writings are before my time, it was interesting to read as my family grew up in and around mill street, I went to st George's school,I remember as kids we celebrated the queens silver jubilee in 1977, we got a silver coin , we were sat in the play ground, the moule institute was our youth club, also remember the pigs next to the church. As teenagers we used to knock around fordington,used to go under a building just opposite the quaker building use it as a camp,when the flats at mill street were empty we got in them, the electricity was left on, we used to put the electric 2 barred fire on to keep warm.we also got into st Georges school when empty, I wish I had something from there as a momento.also got into Lot and warne's when was empty. flats are now there on the ... It seems like I was a bit naughty when I was young but I lived in icen way so as a youngster it was my playground. Its all changed much to my dissapointment 😥, nothing much left now to show my kids, wife, grand children.😟. We had loads of fun when we were youngun's some good some naughty.☺
