Operation Flashpoint: Red River enlists players to lead a hostile force in a remote land, surrounded by serene mountains and deadly serious mission objectives. Building upon Dragon Rising, the series' high-def generation debut, additions in Red River include refinements to squad and enemy AI, a more accessible inventory system, and character class roles, with player-picked upgrades as experience is earned. The game is designed for four-player co-op, and even in single-player modes, a second player can drop in and out of the battle at any time. Although modern military shooter action is the substance of Red River, the violent combat is presented through the personal experiences of the main characters, a small team of Marine Corps infantrymen. The adventure plays out in the landlocked country of Tajikistan, bordered by Afghanistan to the south and China to the east. Leading in from earlier Operation Flashpoint briefings, threats from the People's Liberation Army play a significant role as the game's narrative develops, but much of the game takes place to the north and west, along the banks of the Vakhsh, known as the "Red River" to the people who live there. With shifting international tensions, the political-thriller plot line is broken into three separate acts. The mission begins with an assignment to secure an isolated dam system, in need of repair, against terrorist activity.

I use a shipping rate for Canada which is the same price no matter which game you buy. The Nintendo DS game that you bought happens to be extremely light.For 95%+ of the games, the shipping price makes sense.However, some games are heavier and some games are lighter than the average - so there is an aspect of fluctuation that I account for. But you're right about the total price, that's what matters, I also currently have "Best Offer" on - so you can always make an offer to get a better price.

Would be very fun for a group of friends that like a strategy game
A step up from the last Operation Flashpoint. Not a battlefied or cod type game, more of an Americas Army on steroids, pretty fun guns can be customized a little after each mission and fight you earn points to unlock the gear. Too much cusing tho, its really not needed and takes away from the game a bit, soldiers cuss but the dialogue was written by an street junky I think. Good game, graphics, gameplay fun, not the most realistic but enjoyed the strategy and is the closest game to an afgahn us marine warefare.A step up from the last Operation Flashpoint. As a former Infantry Marine, I like to check out the few games that are Marine oriented. I'd heard this game was built around the fireteam, and was hoping that the team commands from Close Combat: First to Fight would be incorporated in this game. Surprisingly, there are very similar team commands, but using them while under fire will take more practice. Where CC:F2F followed the rigid fireteam structure that was common when I served, Red River has a more dynamic structure and more uncommon weapons than the average grunt Marine has access to. More realistic is the dialogue, and this is where KIDS SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED TO THIS GAME!!! Marines talk dirty, and this game sounds like real grunts wrote the script! I feel this game represents fairly well some of the realities of warfare, like not being able to see targets clearly, not being able to tell where incoming fire is coming from, ambiguous orders, etc. In real life, it's hard to see a man clearly 2-300m, and it's hard to put your front sight post on him and get a hit. That's why The Corps spent so much money on ACOG's! In real life, the direction of gunfire can be hard to pick out when everyone is firing, but tracers work both ways. No combat leader has time to spell out everything he wants, and threaten or insult you at the same time, so most of the orders you get are rather broad. Figure it out. Overall, I'm having lots of fun with this game!

Tactical Shooter Enveloping Gameplay
Played the original game on the PC and was incredibly satisfied on how the game worked got it for the 360 and enjoying the graphics and a couple different details. I won't go into much but the game isn't like COD or BF - call of duty , battlefield in case you don't know the abbreviations. The game has more of a tactical feel too it and at times you feel like your actually there the only downside of it which is hardly noticeable are the trips and the walking distances but that's about it. It has a leveling system but it doesn't go on forever the game play really makes it worth it though recommended for any tactical shooter player.Played the original game on the PC and was incredibly satisfied on how the game worked got it for the 360 and enjoying the graphics and a couple different details. My FAVOURITE game
