Raiders of the Lost Ark is an adventure game based on Steven Spielberg's 1981 hit movie. You control none other than Indiana Jones himself, a world famous archaeologist and adventurer. The object of the game, as in the movie, is to find the Ark of the Covenant. Gameplay consists of traversing various screens and collecting objects which may or may not be useful in your quest. You'll find a trusty whip, a key, a grenade and some mysterious relics whose purpose is initially unknown. And shouldn't there be a shovel around here somewhere? Only by discovering the usefulness of these objects will you unlock the secrets of the game and reveal the true location of the Ark. Raiders of the Lost Ark is unique in that it uses both joysticks, even though it is only for one player. The right controller is used to control Indiana Jones, and the other is used to select items in your inventory. Up to six items can be carried at once.

Great Game!
Item was exactly as described! Game is a blast to play and brings back memories of my childhood. Santa Clause brought this to me for Christmas one year and I remember playing for hours that Christmas morning. I'm REALLY happy to have a chance to play it again!

A timeless classic.
For an Atari game it's very impressive. While other games were single screen affairs with very simple gameplay, Raiders was ambitious, and dared to take you through the movie's journey as you adventure and use items correctly to progress. Not many Atari 2600 games dared to be this ambitious.

Oh my goodness. Well, first I'll say this, you need two controllers to play this game. One to move you and use items and the other to select and drop items. That is annoying. So you basically can't move while trying to switch items. Now, the only thing else I have to say is that this game is so complicated and nothing is out in the open. Walls to blow up or walk through are unmarked so you just have to make lucky guesses. Depending on how you walk to the edge of the screen in one place, it will take you to a different area. You have to guess what items do, like the hourglass that's a grappling hook. I have one warning for you if you play this game. In the second area, don't stand on the dark path.
