Best 4WD F-1 chassis ever. Out of production. Getting rarer.
This chassis is the ONLY 4wd F-1 chassis ever made and is sadly no longer in production. Tamiya is a SUPERB model company, and they are world renowned for quality. Why is 4wd important? The short answer is brakes. During acceleration, weight transfers off of the front wheels, and to the rear wheels. This is why it is possible to pull a wheelie. During braking, the weight transfers to the front wheels, where there are no brakes on a standard rear wheel drive F-1 chassis. Since brakes are applied via the motor, and the front wheels of this chassis are driven, excellent braking is available. This allows an edge in competition, as one can brake much later and overtake those that cannot. The carbon fiber chassis upgrade is beautiful. Made by 3racing, it has an aluminum motor mount and center ... This chassis is the ONLY 4wd F-1 chassis ever made and is sadly no longer in production. Very happy with the car, I only use it for fun since our local track won't let you use them in F1 competition, but it's a great sample of F1 4 wheel drive. Extremely fast too, (that's why local track banned them in F1)
