Some call him the "king of the surf guitar" while others refer to him as "the father of heavy metal" - no matter the title, Dick Dale is a wonderful musician and a true guitar virtuoso. On "Spatial Disorientation" Dick has put together a disc that really allows him to step outside the theme of his last few CD's (staggering uptempo shredding). Here we get the pleasure of hearing Dick sing and play some wonderful slower and acoustic gems. You will still get the full throttle in your face cuts like "HFMIC" but what I found to be incredible were the two versions of the BEAUTIFUL "Belo Horizonte" and the acoustic version of Haji. Incredible playing and something most may not expect from Dick. Also of note is the lovely version Dick gives us of the traditional Christmas Carol, "Silent Night." All in all this is a WONDERFUL CD that will please both new and old "Dickheads."Read full review
I am never disappointed when I buy a cd of Dick Dale! This lp is certainly the exception... I love it even more! Dale is my guitar hero ever since I heard him play PIPELINE, and I just keep on collecting his music and loving it! I highly recommend Dale's cd's and this is certainly some fine, fine rockin'!!
