Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment's embittered vigilante cop has put his troubled past behind him and is ready to begin a new chapter in his life with Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The stylized third-person shooter, which initially turned heads with its combination of gritty environments, film noir style, and use of bullet-time effects for dramatic shootouts, returns with an enhanced graphic engine and completely new storyline. The Fall of Max Payne chronicles the title character's romance with a sultry siren named Mona Sax. Things are never easy for Payne, however, as Sax just so happens to be a murder suspect who leads him down a dark path from which he may be unable to walk away from.<br><br>The new graphic engine allows for motion-captured movement, facial animation from a cast of professional actors, lip-synching, new lighting techniques, a rag doll physics model using the licensed Havok development kit, and redesigned 3D characters. Players will walk through cities as rain splashes down onto the streets with puddles reflecting the glow of neon signs, streetlights, and other details of urban life. The groundbreaking use of bullet time effects for slow-motion combat has been redesigned to incorporate different rates of speed for more theatrical gunplay. Max Payne is now a member of the NYPD, so missions involve interrogating prisoners, speaking with witnesses, and more.

I use a shipping rate for Canada which is the same price no matter which game you buy. The Nintendo DS game that you bought happens to be extremely light.For 95%+ of the games, the shipping price makes sense.However, some games are heavier and some games are lighter than the average - so there is an aspect of fluctuation that I account for. But you're right about the total price, that's what matters, I also currently have "Best Offer" on - so you can always make an offer to get a better price.

    Almost Perfect.

    Not as good as the first Max Payne but a really good game with a compelling story and good graphics. This one is plagued by a constant barrage of load screens and it also seems to lack the grittiness that made the original so interesting. All in all it's more than worth what I paid for it.

    ONE OF THE BEST SHOOTERS!

    ok first of all this is a great shooter, in my opinion better than the previous one in everyway. tons of new features plus you'll get to play as Mona Sax too, a murderous hottie with no sense of humor that has Max head over heels for her. the only thing that keeps this great game from getting a perfect score is the fact that is too short, it'll leave you craving for more action. i played for about 8 hours straight and beated it (i didn't rush thru it, i took my time and enjoyed the game). but no game is perfect, with that said this is a must have in your collection!.

    Just a good game!

    This is one game you will love if you like shooting games, because there is LOTS of it! The story is a little hard to follow at times but all in all it is a pretty good game.The slow motion feature is very valuable if you dont want to get shot much and the adrenaline gauge can also be very helpful in a crowded room.The close up shots of "Payne's" face could have been a little better but it wasn't to bad. The best looking person in the game in my opinion was mona sax. But anyway like i said if you like shooting games you will like this one!

    Bullet time perfection!

    I thoroughly enjoyed this game from beginning to end. In fact, I played it so much when I first got it, that I beat it in just 2 days! The game is by no means short in length, but I certainly had an addiction. The bullet time is great and the enemies have a lot of character to them. I was hooked for the longest time. I even have saves where I can go back and replay the most fun parts again. I would recommend this game to those who enjoyed The Matrix game and to fans of all 3rd person shooters. Also, once you get the sniper rifle, make sure to aim with the scope and go in bullet time when you shoot an enemy - you get an awesome camera angle where the camera follows the bullet. I was amazed at how much fun this proved to be while I was toying with the enemies. This game is truly another ...
