First attempt to pair with my car did not work. Subsequently was able to pair to my car. Now pairs straight away with my phone/CarPlay. There is a 4-5 second delay between pressing a button and it doing something e.g. changing a music track. A few times I’ve used music whilst using Apple Maps and on two occasions the sound was crackling quite badly. I would be disappointed it it was more than £45 but for the price I decided to keep it as it saves constantly connecting a cable.
