A documentary that investigates the politically controversial issue of illegal immigration, MOJADOS: THROUGH THE NIGHT follows a group of Mexican men as they attempt to cross the border into the United States. Director Tommy Davis accompanies four men--nicknamed Handsome, Bear, Tiger, and Old Man--as they endure thirst, hunger, heat, and exhaustion in their effort. In order to fully examine the consequences of such crossings, the film also features interviews with the ranchers whose property the immigrants often pass through, and the border agents charged with preventing them from entering the country. Mixing a cinema verité style with interviews and footage concerning illegal immigration, MOJADOS is a rare documentary that is sympathetic to both sides of a complex social problem.
