About this product

Product Information

A domed city, Romdo is home to both humans and robots. The two races peacefully live together, both under the control of the government. This doesn't last forever, however, as the surprise attack on a reporter by a mysterious being that is not clearly robot or human sparks an all-out war which may just be the "awakening." This volume includes episodes one through four.

  • Animé for grown-ups: Ergo Proxy scores big!

If you're looking for adult animé (that is no super-heros or transforming giant robots), Ergo Proxy fits the bill amply. It's slick, intriguing and visually stunning. This first DVD of the series is more of a teaser than introduction as the all background isn't given away right off the bat. So you should be prepared to watch the whole series to understand the story. But believe me, after viewing the first couple of episodes, it's easy to become hooked and only want more. Set in a far distant future, the earth is a radically changed place where most humans live in domed cities protecting them from the bleak, harsh environment outside. The city's residents are attended to by android type robots called 'entourages.' These robots attend their masters' every need, acting not just as ...

  • Awesome anime set, definaltely a MUST have!!!

Ergo Proxy is set in a world not unlike Will Smith recent movie IROBOT. Its a world exsisting of humans and machines together. Some machines have been built a little too good and go off on their own accord. Its a great title that I have no complaints about. Any anime collector should buy this title.

  • Excellent Purchase

I was not entirely sure if I liked anime, but I wanted to try something new and was informed that this would be a good place to start if I like thought-provoking series. It is exactly what I figured it would be and I look forward to getting the additional disks.
