Excellent book for watercolorists of any skill level. Much of what I've read in this book could also apply to pastels. It is pleasant, without a ton of "personal philosophy of painting" type comments, Not that the philosophy isn't important, but when you're paying for a text to teach you how to watercolor, you really want the majority of the text to be on point.

This book is a great educational tool for someone just starting out. It gives great tips on many different aspects of watercolor. From painting a sunset to painting from a photograph it shows you all the basics. Also different paints and brushes to use. I decided to buy it because there were a few things as a beginer myself that I did not know. Again it answered many of my questions. Angela
Again, this is a book I had when I was learning, ... gave it to a friend, and wanted to get again because it's such a valuable reference tool for painting.
