Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories-live (CD 1989)
Received messaged and autographed copy of Dance Band on the Titanic from Sue Ginsell, a friend of Harry's in the late seventies. It was so humourous, poetic, lyrical and human I loved it immediately. I went to see him when he came to London and he performed all the songs on Greatest Hits and he came across as a truly beautiful person. When he died I was really deeply affected and he is the only public figure I could say that about. I had given my copies of the vinyl DBand and GHits to a very close friend to spread Harry's 'gospel' and I am ashamed to confess forgot about him for a long time. When buying another CD on ebay I thought of Harry and so purchased this CD. Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories LIVE
If you're a 70's music freak, then this is one of the best from the era. I have all Harry's cassettes and CD's and this is my favourite because the atmosphere at his concert is electric, funny, off the cuff and unbelievably good - instrumentally and musically. Also very good selection of most of his biggest hits, especially, Mr Tanner, Taxi, WOLD, Cat's in the Cradle, Better place to be, Circle.....best and funniest is 40,00lb of bananas!!! Enjoy, definitely worth a listen, you'll laugh & sing a long forever.If you're a 70's music freak, then this is one of the best from the era. Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories-live (CD 1989)
My mother and uncle used to play Harry Chapin tapes when I was a child, the songs seemed to form a backdrop to my childhood. It was partly nostalgia that enticed me to buy this CD. I'm not disappointed - I love the stories told in Harrys' songs and his voice is amazing. Excellent CD - well worth buying.

a few comments about Harry Chapin's Greatest Stories CD
just a really good view of Harry Chapin live, playing to what sounds to be a very appreciative audience. Some good old songs here, everyone remembers WOLD, but Taxi is a favourite as well. Lot of sad songs, but played beautifully with a lot of talk in between. Just a great shame that Harry isn't still around.
