The Alesis Elevate 5 MKII speakers give outstanding sound and value with no distortion detectable whatsoever; which at this price is impressive; including not a trace of high frequency hiss. Their audio spectrum is very well balanced for near field studio use. They include a base boost switch if needed, but I doubt you will need for studio nearfield use. They have both phono jack and RCA signal inputs to connect to your desk; plus headphone out and master volume. Good speakers. Top quality dry sound, which is good from a small studio engineering standpoint, as what you hear is what you get, so allows more control over ambience, 'verb, eq etc. If I could have one thing it'd be that they were a little louder, but other than that m, great speakers for the cost.
