About this product

Product Information

Cast in the arcade-style spirit of Sega's Bass Fishing, Rapala: Fishing Frenzy 2009 is an action-oriented fishing game with fast-paced combos and high score bonuses. After selecting a male or female character, players drive a boat across one of six lakes and decide on the perfect fishing spot. Casting the line is initiated by flicking the analog stick, and less patient players can even attract fish by inputting specific commands. Once a fish starts biting, the battle begins. Players must carefully balance reeling in the fish while keeping an eye on the line's tension so it doesn't break.

Reeling in fish is accomplished by moving the analog stick in the same directions as onscreen visual cues. Combos can also be used to weaken the fish's resolve, allowing for an easier catch. Tournament Fishing is the game's primary mode, incorporating six authentic lakes: Lake Wylie, Clear Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Amistad, Logan Martin Lake, and Lake Okeechobee. As players progress, additional rods, lures, and live bait become available to improve the odds of landing the "big one." Other play options include an Open Fishing mode and a Quick Challenge. The former has players fishing on their choice of lakes, while the latter involves racking up high scores in timed events.

    Well worth it

I purchased the game for a Senior Citizen friend who doesn't have a lot of gaming experience, but was excited to try a fishing game,as he had played one on another system years earlier. I gave him this and he's just thrilled with it! He's up playing it at all hours of the night now,a kid with a new toy. That alone makes the purchase worth while at any price.

  • Easy to get Xbox Live achievement points

This game is not spectacular, but not terrible either. The graphics are okay, but the animation can be choppy. I enjoy fishing video games. I like the 2007 Rapala Tournament Fishing game better, but it is much harder and takes alot more time than Fishing Frenzy. With this game, you can use any lure while casting from the location you start at, and you always catch a fish. Bottom line: This game is good for gaining an easy 1000 Xbox Live achievement points.

  • good game

  • Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009

I bought the game thinking it would be like a Tiger Woods or Madden game where you could play your role maybe create a custom career. When that dindt happen i settled for the lame looking charcter they stick you with.So when I settled for that and hit the lake.I love how may 20 pound bass i caught. Not very realalistic especally for Rapala named game whos been in the fishing indrusty forever. Then when all else failed the XBOX LIVE PART S.U.C.K.S!@!@!@!.It was a great idea had potiental but they screwed it up.The whole world fishes and would play a fishing game especally if they built it like a madden or tiger setup AND SOME ONLINE TOURNYS AND BEEF UP LIVE CAPABILITS YOUD HAVE A WINNER!!!! !!(GREAT IDEA POOR FOLLOW THREW)!!
