Classics We Know
A game with an amazing character line-up. Visuals that were, in my opinion, ahead of their time. Cyclops, Psylocke, Cable, and just X-Men in general. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is still among the most respected 2d competitive fighting games here in 2017. The greatest of many features in this game are the unlockable characters. The more you play, the more points you earn that can be used to unlock said characters. I really hope there is a remastered version of this game in the works for current or future generation consoles.A game with an amazing character line-up. Overpriced but not overrated.
Let me just lay it out there right now: I love this game. I loved it in the arcades, I loved it on the Dreamcast and I still love it here, three times around. MvC2 is exactly what it sounds like: characters from the Marvel world and the Capcom world duke it out in over-the-top 2D graphics. With over 50 different characters to choose from (including Cable (from the X-Men universe), Jill Valentine (from Resident Evil), and Tron Bonne (from Mega Man Legends), among others), part of the fun is just coming up with new and different three person teams. Which brings me to the fighting. Players choose teams of three, adjusting settings (such as what type of support attacks your non-active partners do, etc) and then they head out to fight. While the characters are 2D, the backgrounds are ... Let me just lay it out there right now: I love this game. I loved it in the arcades, I loved it on the Dreamcast and I still love it here, three times around. The controls are loose and responsive, allowing even beginners to piece together combos and special moves with relative ease. Anyone who has played any Capcom fighting game before will feel at home with these tired and true controls. What really lets this game shine is how much fun it is to just sit down and play this game. Three character teams allow for a lot of trial and error when it comes to creating your own "perfect" team. Fighting is fierce and fast, constantly keeping you on your toes while also making this game a quick and easy pick-up. But what it all boils down to is two player action. Nothing beats finding a great, working team of characters that shutdown a friend's favorite team or unleashing your entire team's super moves on a defenseless player, turning the tide of a close battle. You can still have plenty of fun with this game alone, unlocking all the secrets, but once that is over, what keeps this product such a high level product is multi-player. As I said when I opened this review, I love this game. The Dreamcast version is slightly superior than to both the PS2 and X-Box versions due to cleaner, less pixelated graphics. Oh, it's more than half the price, easily making it the superior version. But that hardly makes this version worth any less than the $70+ it consistantly grabs on eBay for a complete copy. If you love 2D, over-the-top fighting, any of Capcom's other Vs. titles or are looking for a new multiplayer title, give this game a try! It will not disappoint!

The greatest Versus game ever!
Pros: - Fast paced - Flashy super moves - 3 characters per team - Up to 6 characters on the screen at a time - Combo system allows for many consecutive hits - Tons of levels and characters to unlock - Great cast of characters - Single player mode will keep you entertained for hours, day, weeks, and possibly even months. - Two player mode will keep you entertained for years! Cons: - The character select screen has one annoying song that constantly loops itself - The PlayStation 2 version of this game is not as good as the Dreamcast version. The Dreamcast version feels much more like the arcade version than the PlayStation 2 version. It is a very noticeable difference to me. I believe this is because Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the arcade uses the Sega Naomi board. The Sega Naomi board is ... Marvel Vs Capcom 2
I'd like to give it 5 stars, but I'm bitter. It's been 5 or 6 years since I've played it. I won a few tournaments back in the day, it was fun. Now that it's been 5/6 years since I have played it, I'm terrible. It was an 80 dollar investment due to nostalgia, and I won't lie. Even as terrible as I am, I'm enjoying it. I had the dreamcast version before the movers killed my dreamcast, and it took a lot of thinking to cave and drop the 80 on this game. Am I pleased? Fairly. The rarity and price I cannot hold against the seller, but the developer was very short sighted and stupid. The game itself is as fun as I remember. You just pick your favorite three capcom or marvel characters and beat the hell out of each other until you win or lose. If you've played any of the Vs series, you know the ... Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 has 56 playable characters. These characters are compiled together from various different fighting series. There are Street Fighter characters like Ryo, Ken, Bison, etc. Than there are Vampire Lord Savior characters like the sexy Felicia, Morgan and the Mummy. All the major Xmen characters are here too. Than there are off the wall characters that you wouldn't expect to find in a fighting game like megaman. Some of the characters are a lot better than others, but this only adds to the fun factor. If you ever beat Storm using Dan you'll get all the bragging rights in the world. Most of the characters are locked at the beginning and have to be purchased using points that you earn by playing the arcade mode. Expect to beat the arcade mode many times before ... Marvel Vs.
