About this product

Product Information

A rebellion uprising threatens to shatter the already fragile Union. As one of five GigaWing pilots, players must put a stop to this nonsense once and for all. A 2D vertically scrolling shooter, GigaWing 2 offers seven levels of play, each of which is punctuated with a cut-scene or 2D character overlay that helps further the plotline. To protect itself from the swarms of enemy fighters as well as the sub- and final-bosses that populate each level, the fighter is equipped with a basic weapon as well as a Force bomb that will destroy or severely damage everything currently on-screen.

The most important part of the arsenal is an offensive/defensive weapon known as the Reflect Laser/Barrier. Using this, enemy gunfire can be deflected right back at the assailants, or alternatively, can absorb as much enemy fire as possible, before targeting and then unleashing a barrage of lasers upon the unsuspecting hordes. The caveat, however, is that it requires a few seconds of downtime to recharge, leaving your ship vulnerable in the interim. Infinite continues are provided for players, should the overwhelming armada prove too much.

Aside from the varying abilities and characteristics inherent of each fighter, the order in which you traverse the levels will differ based upon your pilot selection, as will the dialogue uttered. While the result remains much the same, each pilot is capable of performing a unique Reflect Laser attack accompanied by an array of screen-filling effects. The main mode of play allows up to four players to partake in the action simultaneously.

The Score Attack mode, however, allows players to compete for high scores on any previously played level in the game, replete with multipliers that provide for astronomically high scores. By completing the title with each of the playable characters, a Gallery can be unlocked with artwork from each of the respective campaigns.

You always have to wonder with rare items if they’re truly legit but not with this seller unless they’re a magician. Prompt shipping, excellent communication and exactly as described. AAA+++ My only complaint? It wasn’t cheaper 🤣

  • This is, by far, the greatest plane game ever!

I played it a couple of years back and finally decided to buy, but I knew it wouldn't come cheap. Matter of fact, it was the reason why I signed up on Ebay. It has great graphics, fun game play, up to 4 people can play, and can choose from 10 planes. The lazer/shield function is awesome! The only drawback is when too many things get onto the screen it slows down a little, but only a little. Then, the hardest setting gets easy eventually. That's why they included Score Attack. Get kudos of points for this to access secret options! Overall, it's a great game and I'll never regret buying it!

  • Great Game! Too Expensive.

    Great game, but too expensive.

  • A decent Shoot 'Em Ups.

I'm a fan of shoot 'em ups and I played the Japanese version on Dreamcast. I like the fact that there's two attacks which protect the player from enemy's attacks when used, well this is of course a bullet hell. One thing I dislike this from the Japanese version is that the voice-acting are omitted. The battle cry and Engrish are hilarious in JP version. I guess I'm OK with it but I would rather have and play the JP version instead.

  • Great shmup fun on the DC

I love shmups. Giga Wing was great but Giga Wing 2 puts it to shame. Excellent graphics, great soundtrack, and tons of personality. Awesome game.
