Sure it's a good season but NOT because of Adrian Paul... (as I keep telling my wife.) ... It's about Elizabeth Gracen... that girl is an angel. This disk set has a video documentary on the Highlander Convention held in Anaheim which my wife and I attended. Almost all the actors that have ever been on the show attended. I tagged along to the convention to see Elizabeth Gracen. Just MY LUCK. She attended the Convention ONLY by closed circuit TV because Kenneth Starr and his gang of Rabid Republicans were trying to arrest her because of some piddly little trist with Bill Clinton years earlier. CURSE YOU Ken Starr. My wife thinks that Adrian Paul is a good actor and soooooo handsome. I am glad I got this disk set because there is blooper reel PROOF that he is NOT a good actor. He OFTEN makes mistakes that are EDITED... Elizabeth Gracen however is always artistry incarnate! And she's brilliant too. I think she has a degree in Organic Chemical Engineering from M.I.T. While I appreciate all the sword fighting and such on the show... I keep telling my wife that Adrian Paul is not that great... For you guys that have with same problem with your wives...here's something you can use... Adrian Paul is not even his real name... his real name is Enggbert Dusseldorff or something like that... and he isn't Scottish either! ... another tip for you husbands... This disk set has a disk titled "The Romances of Duncan"... I recommend hiding that disk. Oh yeah.... if there can BE ONLY ONE.... Let it Be Amanda (Elizabeth Gracen)Read full review
Highlander season five is filled with sword fights like the other parts of the series. This season is a must have for any highlander fan. The interaction between characters is well crafted even if it does not jell well. This season is second to the last one. You will be able to tell from the content rehashing of old seasons. This one laces the excitement of truly good enteraction that previous seasons had. I do recomend this season as it answers some unknown questions you wonder about. The METHOES character takes on a new demention and allows you to see how a being could evolve with time while others learn less. A very good season
Ok now on to season 5 , A great season also known as the shopping season , I think this is the best season of the series , Duncan faces some of the most powerful foes ever on this season and does it with style . He kicks some serious A** on this season , There is 18 Ep's over 760 minutes of viewing time , On a scale of 1 to 10 , I Give season 5 a 10 , It's a great season , The flashbacks are great , Duncan learns more about his friend since season 3 Methos who has a dark past, The best part was the end when Duncan kills his friend since season 1 richie due to a ancient demon named Arimon. Frist came out in 1996-1997 . Great season. By Harlan Walters
As far as special features, the season 5 set is is good: packed with commentary, bonus footage, & interviews. An alternate (rough/extended) cut of 2 of the episodes. Sweet . . . but I do wish they put them on the same discs as the regular cuts. Instead the last 2 DVDs are made for special features. What isn't sweet about the alt cuts, is they only have one chapter. So you will not be able to jump back to a spot at any time you like. The case itself is not as well (as they previously did). You have to remove the 1st disc, to get to the 2nd, 3rd to 4th, etc; and the discs tend to fall off. People who care about the longevity of them will want to keep them in a CD/DVD organizer.
