The Panasonic GH5 has been around for several years now but the firmware was recently upgraded again to V2.6. This has ensured that the GH5 remains relevant and still a good value choice especially for the serious videographer. At first sight the menus of the GH5 can be intimidating and I would suggest that this is not a camera for the beginner. Even an experienced photographer can expect to have to invest a substantial amount of effort to setup the GH5 to get the best out of it. That said putting time into the setup of the GH5 is well worth the effort. The 4K video produced by the camera at up to 400Mbs is brilliant but it does tax the PC to process it at bit rates over 100Mbs.

This camera is superb at producing videos and stills. The build quality is second to none. I have found for stills that are ready for print to use I adopt the following settings: Noise reduction minus 4 , Saturation plus 1, and Sharpening plus 2. these are in the "Standard" picture mode.
