Every Book About Old Toys Should Be This Good
You wouldn't have to be an expert looking for minutia to enjoy this book. I had only a passing knowledge of Ajax-Archer Spacemen and remembered a little about a TV show called "Captain Video" back in the days before I was born. That was it. I thought that I would get this book to just look at the pictures of old vintage toys. But I found the stories laid out to be accessible to a novice like me, and the anecdotal stories to be compelling bits of nostalgia. You needn't be from this era of toys or to have ever even remembered them to enjoy this book. Whoever compiled it did a wonderful job of setting the stage for why these toys existed and what was going on in the culture to pave the way for their popularity.
