This was a book by one of Stephen King's favorite authors mentioned in King's book "Secret Windows", a kind of new writer's guide. "Killer" was good and flowed nicely and had some suspense moments and surprises. The portrait of the killer's personality shows that - the person you least expect, could be more cold-blooded than you thought possible. Creepy and a good read, worth checking out.
This mystery doesn't really conceal the identity of the culprit, so it's a whydunit instead of a whodunit. In this town, don't ever get into trouble, and don't cuss at the authorities. Bad things may follow. Very good novel.

Excellent well-written book that kept me up reading past dark.. The killer was not your average killer, he kind of reminds me of Dexter,,,,,the killer was overcome at times but did not really go without some insight...some thoughts that were counter to his death spree. This is rare in that most killers we read about appear to be one-sided bent on murder types with no real personality
A decent story but not great.
