Great 80's band ! Fond memories !!
I am driving an older but nice car at the moment with a cassette deck in it. I have to look for a lot of my favorite music I have on CD's also on cassette though. Badlands was not around long enough, and they should have been. Jake E. Lee , Ozzy's former guitarist after Randy Rhoads passed away is one of hard rocks all-time greats with his own unique style and flair. Eric Singer, future drummer for KISS, is a very accomplished and powerful drummer in his own right. He hardly, if at all, plays any fills on this album..clean and tight is the best way to descibe his playing. And lead singer Ray Gillian ? Just wonderful range and soul to his singing !! This freshman collection of songs comes from the band that guitar virtuoso Jake E. Lee formed after parting ways with Ozzy Osbourne. It's a sprawling, hard-rock album with stellar playing from every musician--including Ray GIllen, who seems incapable of hitting a wrong note. As seems to happen when Jake E. Lee is involved in project, however, "artistic differences" and plain old in-fighting prompted original drummer Eric Singer to bolt after the first album, and the whole band to fall apart after finishing one more polished album (Voodoo Highway) and, released only recently, the rough cut of another, much bluesier LP. Great vocals of the late Ray Gillen. Terrific cords from Jake E. Lee. This is NOT hair metal. The CD's and cassettes are high, but it's worth it.
