An escaped convict accidentally destroys a stunt shot while a movie is being filmed. When the driver dies in the subsequent car crash, the director of the film decides to quickly replace the driver with the convict, thus saving them both from the police and setting up explosive dramatic ironies between the real world and the illusory world of film-making. O'Toole is brilliant in this brilliant film. Academy Award Nominations: 3, including Best Director, Best Actor--Peter O'Toole, Best (Adapted) Screenplay.

Seller was wonderful, there were issues during shipping where the package got to one of the final spots of shipping but USPS lost the package in between there and the final destination, seller reached out to USPS and even though USPS was able to acknowledge that they had the package they were unable to locate where the package was at, seller had great communication throughout and issued a refund, would absolutely still buy from the seller again as the issue was in no way his fault!!

The package arrived faster than expected and wrapped with care to insure it was not damaged during shipping. The description was just as stated in the summary. It was a old black/ white movie that is hard to find and priced fairly .

  • The Stunt Man 2disc DVD set - Excellant! Amazing! Cool!

This movie is truly a cult classic. And incredibly hard to get, whether the director Richard Rush wanted it that way, or whether it is so revolutionary that it has been suppressed, if you get a chance to obtain this movie I suggest you do so. I finally got mine. Ive seen this movie before. Its plot involves an escaped convict and a egomanical movie director and the lovely Barbara Hershey as the romantic interest. I want to make a movie someday. Im working on it right now, even have a social website, Z Dreaming World, where I hope to find and cultivate friendships with others with the same dream and interest. The lighting and camera work in this movie is fantastic. Basically, a stunt scene goes bad as Steve Railsback(the convict) stumbles onto the movie site and the stuntman is killed. The ...

  • Reality is Just an Illusion

This is a well crafted movie. Every scene to produced perfect. There is action in this movie about making a movie. Everytime you think you know what is happening, you really don't. You see the behind the scenes of making a movie. Peter O'Tool is shining as a master manipulator/director. I have rented this movie to show to other people. I watched the first time over twenty years ago. It still impresses me. Not all movies can hold up to the test of time. There is a song in the movie with the line in the lyrics "Nothing is really what it seems."

  • great

this is a great film. peter o toole in one of his best acting roles. great story, great action and great twists and turns. well worth to have in your collection.

  • The Stunt Man

The story of a convict who ends up on a movie set and joins on as a stuntman leading to his somewhat regretful decision.

  • Stunt Man movie

Chose this title because of its cult status, but was disappointed in the product. Basically watching the making of a movie by an egocentric director without a whole lot of plot. Haven't yet felt the need to watch the "Making of" documentary.
