The characters in this movie draw you in so completely that you feel you are there along beside them in their moments of joys, triumphs and heartaches. Richard Gere plays the hard nosed officer in training so completely that you cant help but cheer for him even during his mishaps. David Keith does such a beautiful job portraying his best friend and fellow commrade and your heart just breaks for him. Debra Wingers smokey voice and look of next girl charms leave you rooting for her and Gere time and again. Lou Gossett Jr does his job of Commanding Officer so well that I nearly wanted to salute him myself! All in all, a very much must have to anyones Library collection! No matter how many times you see this movie...the ending gets you every time!
I have always loved watching this movie. While my wife was alive we would watch it together and cheer when the white knight comes and rescues the princess.

For a used tape of an older movie, it is in good condition. It played well in my older TV .

The contrast and conflict of characters which Gere and Gossett jr. create is absolutely stellar. The story is good, but at times can get a bit slow moving or dull. However, it's worth watching this entire movie for it's message. Only strong will and determination make the final grade, so if it's motivation you need, watch this one...a few times, at least.
I love VHS versions, I didn't have this particular movie and although I have seen it many times wanted to add it to my colectio of favorites. VHS do not skip like dvd's,not to mention this movie is awesome! This was truly listed at a great bargain price, this is why I love Ebay so much!
Richard Gere is one of my favorite actors and after seeing this movie, I wanted it for my library. Shows how a person can change from bad to good and how love blossoms and has a beautiful ending. Highly recommend it.
After seeing this movie years ago it became my favorite movie and I just had to have it. I have watched this particular movie about 15 times and it never gets boring. I will say Richard Gere was a better actor in this movie and Pretty Women.
