I'm sad because I love playing Gun, but the game won't play on my Xbox 360 console. A message appears stating that my console needs to be updated. I have no idea what that means. I'm a senior!😭

I gave Gun a 4/5 because it's a really good game, but not one of my all time favorites. It is surely worth buying at some of the great prices it is available for. I'm not a big western fan, but this game is plain and simple fun. It has a decent story with a gritty dialogue, fitting the genre. The gameplay is smooth, controls are easy to get used to, and graphics are well done. You can ride a horse, travel on foot, shoot a cannon from a ferry, use knives, tomahowks, pistols, rifles, shotguns, whiskey bombs, bow and arrows, and more. There are main and side missions to increase your stats. I would recommend this game for anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary, that will provide some single player entertainment.
Introduction Gun is set back in the old west. It has a standard opening, like any other game. The intro introduces some characters and background with a tutorial to get feel for the game. Its not anything special, but not anything terrible. No cons present. Game play Here is where Gun gets to shine and excel! This is the standout part of the game. Gun is fun. Gamers who have played True Crime or Grand Theft Auto will feel right at home here. It is an open world with no loading to new areas. Action is balanced, fun, and fast paced with the help of bullet time. Bullet time slows down time allowing you to pull off a number of shots not possible without it. You can restore bullet time by pulling off combos or head shots or anything else the game deems worthy. This becomes very useful throughout the game. Game play is where Gun earns its score. Story When you get down to it, Gun is a basic story. The main character is out for revenge for what a man named Magruder has done. This has been done and seen before. Nothing great here. Graphics/Sound Gun is not going get much praise here either. On other systems this would look decent. But this review is on the X BOX 360, the standards a little higher some could say. The sound on this game is okay, but the graphics could have been revamped. The only difference here some might see is that the clarity is higher and that it is smoother. This is where Gun loses points. Playtime/Replay ability The game will take most gamers 10-15 hours to beat. But when the main story has been beaten, or you want to do other things, there is still more to be done. You can do many types of side missions. There are sheriff, pony express (delivery) quests, hunting, ranch-hand, and wanted posters. These will up your stats. With the money earned there, you can upgrade your weapons. This is Gun's other steaming value.Read full review
After 'Red Dead Revolver' I wondered what would be the next great western game. "GUN" was it. The story is pretty typical spaghetti western with a "National Treasure" twist. There is not much to do in the game once you have beaten it but the ride to the end is a lot of fun. Controls are great. Cinematics not too bad. Dialogue is not so great but Thomas Jane does voice the main character. I absolutely love the horseback riding. The horses control as if you were really riding a horse. No online play really made me sad. In 'Red Dead Revolver' they at least had multiplayer but "GUN" is a solo job. Probably not much more than a rental for most people. 3.5/5
Let's start with the positives: Gun is a very pretty game, with lots of great scenery and attention to detail. It is also easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. However, the game has a few problems. First, it is one of those games that you can breeze through the entire thing only dying a few times, but at the end the "boss" is extremely difficult and takes many tries to finally defeat. Second, it's extremely short - even playing all the side missions it does not provide a very long playing experience. Also, it is completely linear. You go from a to b to c without ever making a decision or having to alter your strategy. Nothing affects the storyline, so you merely hop from one movie to the next. All in all, I would suggest renting the game for $6 rather than buying it for $50. I finished with it in two days of semi-serious play, and still had five days left over before i needed to return it. It's a pretty game, and entertaining while you're playing it, but in the end it doesn't really seem worth the money.Read full review
First off let me say that this game is addictive, it is fun, the graphics are very good (there are better ones for 360, but they are still very good), and the controls are pretty easy to grasp. With all that said it goes by way too quick! It took me five hours to beat the game, and I'm no gaming master by any means. I would not pay $59.99 for this game and would reccomend getting it on eBay or stopping by a video store and renting it when you have some time. It is, without a doubt, a fun game; just don't pay full price for it.
This is a good game if you like shooters and/or westerns. I really love the game play, it flows smoothly and the controls are easy to get used to. The only thing I don't like about this game is the fact that its short. You can beat it in a few hours if you sit down and play straight through it. One thing I'd like to add about the 360 version of this game in particular is if you like your gamer score, it is very easy to get the achievemnts for this. I have all but two and it only took 2-3 days.
I have found several of the reviews to be true about this game. I can truely say that I bought this game after the price went down and it was used. When I started playing it I thought it was cool, after a while I lost interest. At last I can say this game is a must have to add to the collections just because of the reality of the Old West that we don't see anymore even on TV. My kids love to ride the horses and they play it all the time. I rate it a 7 out of 10 for the historical reality. Thanks...
This manual is great for both newbies and veterans alike because, simply put, you won't be able to find everything without it. For example, need to know where to find all the gold mines? Buy the book and find out. Want to know how to capitalize on all the achievments? Buy the book. This manual provides all sorts of screenshots, weapons stats, tips for getting past tricky bosses and other goodies. I especially like the walk-throughs of the levels. The only real downside to this manual is the serious lack of cheats - but since the game wasn't designed with any, this isn't a drawback. The guide gives players what they need to play the game without alot of needless fluff. It's definitely worth the price of admission and you won't be disappointed.
