    Good but the 820B is sweeter

    I bought this thinking it was an upgrade to my favourite amp from the time which was the 820B. It wasn't. Bass extension wasn't quite as good and for my ears and those around me the 820B had a fuller sound, plus it drove speakers it shouldn't have done despite having only a claimed 25wpc. However keep the AX to very easy to drive speakers and it's a very good sounding amp though there's mistaking it's missing that bass extension whatever speakers you use.

    Great little amp

    Although quite old, this amp is so well made and designed that it still punches above it's weight. Called 'the poor man's Naim' I bought it to control the bass in my RTL3 speakers. I replaced the fuses and treated the switches etc. to some Deoxit and it sounds like new.
