    Gritty action packed sci-fi adventure

    This is Star Trek, but not as you know it! Entertaining and gritty, this series has the feel of a big movie cut into segments. Definitely a big budget production. The characters are well rounded and engaging. Not suitable for the younger audience as there is some definite shocking moments. The only reason I have not listed as 5 stars is due to the excessive amount of klingon with subtitles...which proves a distraction, especially as our DVD player would not always pick them up so you have no idea what's going on. The technology used far exceeds that of the original series despite the fact that this is set 10 years before that timeline. Not sure yet how that will be explained, but just enjoyed the series for what it is...and it is very good. All in all an excellent series that will keep ...

    Well worth getting

    This has more action than all the other star treks . Personally I have viewed it as though it's a stand alone series it doesn't gel with the others but if you are a star trek fan. It's worth watching. The lead character is so compelling once your watching you want to carry on.

    Great series

    Really enjoyed this series. For some it may start a little slow and it takes a little time to get to know the characters but it’s worth persevering and some of the latter episodes in particular are great. Michael Burnham in particular is a great character. Looking forward to the next series.

    Having already watched the series, I am anticipating the second series dvd with excitement. The series is in the best Star Trek traditions and definitely 'Boldly Goes' where other Treks have gone before.
