    MOST COMPLETE DRUM MACHINE FROM ROLAND

    The Roland TR-8S is by far THE most complete drum machine they have produced! You have all the signature sounds of the 808, 606, 909, 707, and 727, and several modified versions also. The TR-8S can store 128 patterns, each with eight variations and three kinds of fills. Patterns or variations can be triggered individually or chained together for evolving sequences. Beats can be created on the fly for live performances as well. There are a plethora of pre set beats and synth sounds installed that you can alter and change. The lava light feature is awesome especially in darker settings. The price may be a bit steep BUT it is WELL worth shelling out the $$!!!!!!!!

    Its a nice toy, not a tool. A big Roland fail.

    Roland really dropped the ball on this one, WHAT, no song mode, my tr 707 had one, so this machine is not like the original tr series. You cannot create individual patterns longer than 1 measure. Nice toy but defiantly not a tool.

    Great sounds, great features, poor velocity pad response

    I'm very happy I purchased this. I sold my TR-8 to help fund it because this has got all the sounds of the TR-8 plus the ability to load your own samples and a host of new features such as per track last step setting, new effects, and motion recording. This thing is fantastic. My only gripe is the velocity pad. Even under "light" sensitivity setting its dynamic range is miniscule. It's very hard to get a decent soft hit on this thing which really is its whole purpose. So if that might be a deal breaker for you, try it out in store. I really hope this can be fixed in firmware.

    Incredibly versatile, accessible, and can make entire SONGS!

    Oh my god, I LOVE this machine. I've gone through a number of drum pedals and machines, and I had previously been using the Akai XR20 and the Roland TR-6s. This is MILES ahead of those machines. The customization of each instrument (tune, decay, ctrl) plus drum fills and pattern linking make this such an accessible drum machine that can make actual songs! I eventually want to get the TR-808 (the expensive big brother of this machine) but for now the TR-8s does EVERYTHING I need it to do. I'm such a huge fan!!!
