One of the all time best sword and sorcery fantasy series!
Elric is one of my all time favorite sword and sorcery fantasy characters, Michael Moorcock is an excellent writer, has a fabulous vocabulary and draws you into a multiverse of versions of the eternal champion, a hero (or villain?) tortured by his past, struggling with his morality, of being a danger to lovers, friends and foes, and the duality of being naturally weak but with drugs and sorcery powerful beyond most mortals, and being the master (or servant?) of his soul stealing great black sword.
