Picture card needed for each year

Would be better if each year had a picture of a card so you could see what background each card had, per each year. Have on most years, but not all

Will still use my ancient price guides for more detail

Hadn't bought a price guide in a long time. Turned off by new product; focusing on 1930-1970, therefore the choice of Vintage Collector. While it's nice to have football. basketball and hockey summaries in case I get distracted, the baseball portion has less detail than expected. (You have to decide who a minor star or semi-star is, for example) Batter Up cards aren't even in the book, Decent articles. Not a bad publication, but I still end up double-checking things with my old guides. Not much has changed in the last decade price-wise, and more details were summarized decades ago.

  • Don't recommend it for in-depth vintage prices. It's more of a magazine.

Prices don't start until page 90. Baseball 90 to page 100, no 19th century prices Football only has 4 pages. 101-104 no card prices before 1935 Basketball 2-pages Hockey 3 pages, so all the pricing is between is between pages 90-110 in a 112 page price guide. It does have some interesting stuff like the 20 best NY Rangers cards & the Bears glory from the mid-80's. Also, interesting history of card collecting. Yet, purely as a price guide It's no different than a monthly. Plus no 70's Fleer cards from the 70's in football, no odd balls such as Wonder or Kellogg's. For football from 1968-1979 it's all Topps. I realize Topps was indeed the king during that era but figured a magazine strictly committed to Vintage would have a 1933 Goudey Red Grange. Would have an 1887 Old Judge baseball ...

  • "Great Vintage Photos and Articles"

The vintage articles and latest auctions were of great interest. Of course can not forget the guide.

  • Cool magazine...better than expected!

Great classic feel to information...similar to the Beckett Baseball Monthly of the early 90s
