SynopsisWhat began as an ode to the American farmer has evolved into an anthem to an iconic American way of life. Inspiring and moving, the book follows the themes of the heartwarming speech by legendary radio commentator Paul Harvey, "So God Made a Farmer." Based on the TV commercial watched by millions during "The Big Game" in 2013, this book dives deep into the lives and work of farmers as well as the photographers who captured them. It features more than 200 photographs shot by ten world-class photographers, including National Geographic's William Albert Allard, and shines a spotlight on the American farmer in a compelling photographic poem.
This gift was sent directly to my father (an old retired farmer) in his assisted living facility in another state. He suffers from dementia so I wanted a larger gift quality book for him to look at the pictures. Not sure what he can truly understand of the content. But, my mother said he picks up the book repeatedly to look at.
Bought it used for a friend. It was clean and in good shape which makes me trust the sellers assessment of condition for future purchase. Sort of a coffee table book with photos and prose that will make you yearn for the hard but wholesome life on the farm.
