SynopsisSeldom have critics so raved about a film star's memoirs, or have fans been so delighted by such infectious energy and ebullient storytelling panache. Loitering with Intent: The Child captivates readers with O'Toole's rakish wit and shining eccentricity, recounting the story of his weird, wacky, wild, and wonderful early life. Photos.
The fine actor, Peter O'Toole, wrote a book about his childhood. The gifted writing is as "personable" as he was, plus there is a lot of Irish, British, and European history brought to light. Neither he, nor his book could ever be called dull. Thank you, Peter (I also look forward to reading the next book about his adult years). Recommended.
I haven’t read the book yet but, it’s a good book about a great artist. There are three parts of his life and three books total. I believe I have found the other two. Can’t wait to read it.
The great actor of stage, film, & fine TV. The raconteur and teller of tales reveals his own story from childhood. Irish by birth, he lives in England during WWII - a War and the Demonic Hitler will thereafter obsess and haunt him. O'Toole reveals this to be the prism he views his entire life through. Fine writing brings a distinct focus to his story. *****
