Synopsis
Driven from their homeland, the Indians fought bitterly to keep a final stronghold east of the Mississippi.  Savage cunning, strength, skill, and knowledge of the wilderness were their weapons, and the Indians used them mercilessly.  But they couldn't foresee the white men who would come later, men who loved the land as much as they did, who wanted it for their own.  Men who learned the Indian tricks and matched brutality for brutality.

The textbook was better than described. It looks like brand new! The price was appropriate for the type of textbook that it is. The appearance and quality of the textbook was impeccable. The shipping took about 2 weeks to arrive, but the textbook was well worth the wait. Seller packaged my textbook beautifully which ensured that it arrived unharmed and in perfect condition. Excellent seller! I would purchase more items from this seller in the future!

  • History and story... a good combination

This is history in a narrative form, all of the content based on close letters written by the people in the book themselves. With all the liberal historians trying to rewrite history these days with the typical "Indians are good and white people are always evil", it's nice to have a book written in a way that has an honest depiction of all the people, Indians and white, who settled in the Ohio and Kentucky regions of America. The good and the bad is depicted, but it is a very interesting historical account of the people who lived over 200 years ago in our American wilderness.

  • Frontiersman

A friend of mine also agrees this story of Simon Kenton is not only one of the most important stories in the American experience, but that it is so good, that we feel compelled to send the book to Clint Eastwood with a request for him to make a motion picture based on the book. Could anyone do a better job? We think it would be fantastic. Please write to Mr. Eastwood and join our effort.
